14 May 2012, Singapore – As part of the Singapore Arts Festival, Young@Heart will make its Asia debut in Singapore from 23 to 25 May 2012 at 8pm and 26 May at 3pm and 8pm performing at the SOTA Drama Theatre. Tickets costing S$25 and S$45 are available from SISTIC. There will be a post-show dialogue after each performance.
Founded by Bob Citman and Judith Sharpe in 1982, Young@Heart is made up of members living in an elderly housing project in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA called Walter Salvo House. This year marks 30 years of rock and roll for Young@Heart. The Chorus has toured extensively within the US and Europe. Some members have prior theatre or music experience while others have performed on the amateur level. Some have never stepped onto a stage before turning 80.
The musical theatre repertoire includes songs by legendary brands and iconic musicians such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Velvet Underground, Bon Jovi, Blondie and Bob Dylon.
The age of these amateur performers are over 70 and reach as high as 90. There are no boundaries to music, and End of The Road will prove to you that age is definitely no barrier to good music. Being fun is not only for the young.
