J-Pop Fans look forward to MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON Festival 2015

Singapore has been a rather quiet for Japanese music lovers like me. But, with LiSa coming in July, it seems that things are starting to heat up with Eir Aoi’s announcement and the two-day Japanese culture party that is MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON Festival 2015.

Hachioji P’s Twinkle World feat. Hatsune Miku:

Taking place in 5 – 6 September 2015 at *Scape The Ground Theatre and *Scape Playspace, there will be booths for karaoke, fashion and, even cuisine. It was just held in Taipei, Taiwan last weekend (13 – 14 June 2015) with TEMPURA KIDZ opening the event, followed by a fashion show by the quirky Harajuku veteran Ayumi Seto’s Aymmy in the batty girls and much more. Even vocaloid prince Hachioji P, a permanent AFA favourite, was there to kick of day two of the festivities with the beloved Hatsune Miku dancing along with the rest of her fans. My inner fan girl felt an intense pang of jealously when I heard m-flo and CAPSULE took the stage straight after, with the latter performing songs from their latest album WAVE RUNNER.

Yanaginagi performs Harumodoki from OreGairu Zoku:

No need to feel jealous. Really. Because, they are coming to Singapore too!

The complete list is not out yet, but I am ready to hand over my wallet. Fans of Perfume (they came just last year at Resorts World Theatre) and the eccentric Kyrary Pamyu Pamyu can look forward to the legendary Yasutaka Nakata and his electronic duo CAPSULE. I have been a fan of their electro house vibes since hearing “Love or Lies” from Liar Game, and I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes of seeing them performing that live! Of course, we cannot leave out Hachioji P and kz (livetune). The genius duo behind some of the top tunes from Hatsune Miku – Project Diva – f, will be performing along with livetune’s feature vocalist Anna Yano to pump up the crowd. Likewise in Taipei, TEMPURA KIDZ and yanaginagi have also been confirmed. I am especially looking forward to the latter’s live performance of “Tokohana” from Black Bullet and “Harumodoki” from OreGairu Zoku!

There is already so much to look forward to with the first line-up. Let’s hope some of our favourite acts will turn up. I am really am hoping for Kalafina’s return to Singapore!
