31 July 2011, Singapore – Earlier this month on 7 July 2011, I visited Clarke Quay to attend their first edition of Latino Salsa Thursday event to catch Filipino – Australian singer, TV/Film star and stage actor RJ Rojales perform along with vocalist, percussion player and established Latin singer Dimax Antonio Cuesta.
Trying to soak up as much of the Latino atmosphere at the centre courtyard of one of Singapore’s most popular dining and drinking hotspots, the crowds were invited to join in the live Latino Salsa perfomance and workshops where they could pick up some sexy Latin Salsa moves.

There was a dance floor area where professional dancers showed their Latin Salsa moves and anyone was welcomed to join them. Initially the crowd was pretty curious and a tad bit shy to join in, but as it got later and people were more comfortable, the dance floor was actually packed. Well at least it was great for the photos, but I am however, still on the shy side and wouldn’t be caught dancing in public!! Furthermore, it did get rather hot and the Sol beer didn’t help in cooling me down.
Latino Salsa is held on the 1st Thursday of the month in July to September 2011 from 7.30pm to 10pm at Clarke Quay as part of their music series. With the 1 for 1 specials and 10% specials at participating tenants such as Alegro, Crazy Elephant, Cuba Libre Cafe & Bar, Fremantle Seafood Market, Le Noir, Marrakesh, Quayside Seafood Restaurant, Señor Santos, Señor Taco, Shanghai Dolly, Shiraz, The Chupitos Bar, The Rupee Room, The Steakhouse, Warehouse Bistro and Vintry Singapore.
Well, I had my dinner at Cuba Libre Cafe & Bar at 1030pm and was pleasantly surprised with the what I had. The party moved to Cuba Libre where the patrons continued to dance as I had my dinner.
If it is going to be heavy night of drinking, do check out Fresh Up which may help you reduce hangovers.
