SkillsFuture Month 2020, held from 17 July to 16 August 2020, features a series of virtual and some physical events that cater to Singaporeans at different stages of their careers and life.
Mid-careerist jobseekers affected by the economic impact of COVID-19 will be able to learn more about the range of training opportunities. Over 80 participating community, education and industry partners expect to reach out to over 15,000 learners.
To date, over 6,500 training places are available under the SGUnited Skills Programme across a range of over 113 courses offered by 13 training providers. More training places and courses are expected to be rolled out through to the end of this year. There have been some 1,300 sign-ups for SGUnited Skills Programme courses.
The SkillsFuture Singapore X Workforce Singapore Jobs & Skills Fair will be held from 24 to 28 July 2020. Various job, traineeship and training opportunities for Singaporeans will be available through a hybrid of virtual and physical activities. Jobseekers can access information on various support initiatives including online career coaching, one-on-one Skills and Training Advisory sessions as well as live sessions and sectoral webinars with training providers, industry partners and employers.
Lifelong Learning Institute will conduct physical activities from 24 to 26 July 2020. Onsite and virtual services allow individuals to learn more about training options. Organisers expect around 5,000 participants to benefit from this fair.
The SkillsFuture@NTU event supported by the autonomous universities, polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education, will go virtual this year with a series of workshops highlighting specific jobs and skills relevant for the evolving job market. These workshops will cover topics of health, food sustainability and technological advances, as well as share ways for individuals to keep abreast in a digital world, including soft skills adaptations to cope better for an ever-changing world.
SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair is organised by Singapore Polytechnic in collaboration with other Polytechnics, ITE and private sector partners. It will showcase work-study opportunities to fresh and recent graduates, as well as the strong industry partnerships. Participants can access a series of webinars and virtual exhibitions by industry partners featuring work-study opportunities.
Learning activities for residents organised by the five Community Development Councils will be held in this year’s SkillsFuture@CDC. Virtual and edutainment programmes that cover employability skills and lifelong learning topics. Learn from experts on job-search skills, personal wellness and industry insights.
