Inaugural History Festival 2011

11 July 2011, Singapore – The National Museum of Singapore and the National University of Singapore jointly present the Inaugural History Festival 2011.  It consists a history seminar and an oral history competition.

History Seminar 2011

This seminar aims to tell Singapore’s history through a use of personal stories, ethnographic anecdotes, film and research findings.  Conducted in two parts – Recalling Ourselves: Exploring the Relationship Between Memory and Identity and Remembering Ourselves: The Power of Film in Memory – you will be able to engage in meaningful dialogues with academics, researchers and filmmakers to gain insights into a meaningful encounter with the past and present.

Filmmaker Boo Jun Feng’s Stranger and Keular Baris will also be screened at the seminar.
