Great Eastern Women's Run 2021

Great Eastern Women’s Run Returns As A Virtual Run in November 2021

The 15th edition of the Great Eastern Women’s Return returns in November 2021 as Singapore’s first all-women’s virtual run. The race was cancelled last year because of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic. This year runners will lead a fund-raising initiative for the underprivileged women in society, to help them lead a better life.

The public will get to participate in the run by clocking their miles via a mobile app from 14 November to 15 December 2021. There are five different race categories and a special 113 km category to commemorate Great Eastern’s 113th anniversary in 2021. The usual 5km, 10km, 21.1 km and 2km category for mothers and daughters 5 to 12 years old will remain this year.

Race Entitlements for the 5km, 10k, 21.1km and 113km categories include an adidas Adult Race Tee, a Category finisher medal, an exclusive Kraft Bag, a finisher e-certificate and a finisher e-medal.

The 2km Mummy + Me category runners will receive an adidas Adult race tee, a kid race tee, an adult finisher medal, a kid finisher medal, an exclusive Kraft bag, a Family Finisher e-certificate and a finisher e-medal.

The race will be measured in the MOVE app by Liv3ly. Join in the series of monthly virtual challenges and increase your mileage and improve your pace. Athletes, running coaches, physiotherapists and nutritionists will be offering tips as you train with the Great Eastern Women’s Run on Facebook and Instagram, starting from September.

This year you won’t be able to find single-use plastic in the race packs and entitlements. Finisher medals for participants are 100% recyclable. The race bag is made from natural pulp fibre and is recyclable.

Registrations for GEWR will begin today, 18 August and can be done through www.greateasternwomensrun.com. Participants will be required to clock their distance through the MOVE app from 14 November to 15 December 2021.

The Great Eastern Women’s Run is adopting two charity organisations. They are Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) and Daughters Of Tomorrow (DOT). DOT empowers women by helping them achieve financial independence to support their families. Great Eastern will use this platform to raise awareness and funds towards supporting underprivileged women in their back-to-work journeys.

You can support these causes via the Great Eastern Cares fundraising pages SimplyGiving.sg set up by Great Eastern staff and financial representatives.
