18 September 2010, Singapore – With the night race happening next week, the Grand Prix fever is getting hotter! I was just outside ION Orchard yesterday evening and there were lots of F1 activities. There are interactive media and designer soundscapes, the GP Superstore where you can purchase official team merchandise and much more in side the mall. Friendly ambassadors were distributing fans, flags and other information to the public.
You’ll be rewarded with limited edition gifts daily when you upload picture perfect moments onto www.facebook.com/yoursingapore. Winners of the 30 wackiest entries relating to the theme “It’s Going to Get Loud” also receive a limited edition Grand Prix Season Singapore coffee table book.
You can purchase official team merchandise for Ferrari, Mclaren Mercedes, Red Bull, Mercedes GP, Lotus Racing and more at the GP Superstore. Lotus Racing Drivers will make an appearance on 23rd September.
You can try out the simulator as well when you are there.
Other activities to check out:
- Get up to Speed : Porsche 911 GT3 Car Display at the L1 Atrium – This is the first time the GT3 Cup Car features a 44mm wider body at the rear, allowing for even larger wheels and an increased engine capacity. Bring your camera!
- Acer-Ferrari Liquid E roadshow at B3 Atrium – This Android Smartphone combines powerful performance with design excellence. The phone comes loaded with Ferrari-themed content. Try it out.
- Digital Nights Singapore – Take a romantic trail of sound glimpses down Orchard Road in a Parisian-style interactive iPhone-based game. You’ll need to find clues in designated stores. Stand a chance to win vouchers from the participating malls, and a trip for 2 to Paris sponsored by Air France. Visit www.digitalnights.sg for more details.
Singapore’s most famous shopping strip will set the stage for the first edition of Digital Nights @ Orchard, part of Rev Up @ Orchard and Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS). Internationally renowned French, European and Singaporean artists Tom Carr, Bertrand Planes, Visual System, Charles Lim and Zulkifle Mahmod will add a distinctive touch to this showcase of visual and digital arts at night.
Starting from 7.30pm till 11pm, Digital Nights @ Orchard will offer shoppers and visitors outdoor attractions. Mandarin Gallery will display a suspended aerial light sculpture; Paragon’s front steps will showcase an interactive light and music creation, while TANGS Orchard window display becomes a non-conventional animated video installation. Ngee Ann City’s public walkway will feature a “glamorous digital red carpet” of lights and visual projections stretched across the pedestrian walkway.
