Getai Soul 2016 – Singapore’s First Local-Centric Soul Music Festival

The Getai Group who brought you Getai Electronica, Geta Ethnica previously is bringing Getai Soul, a two day soul music community festival in Singapore featuring local and regional soul music acts on 7 and 8 May 2016.

This will be the first large scale music festival that combines 16 of the best soul musicians together with vanishing heritage Arts troupes. Some of the fine performers include  Charlie Lim & The Mothership, The Steve Mcqueens, Dru Chen, Vandetta, Tim De Cotta & The Warriors, The Good Life Project, TAJ and many others from Singapore and the region such as Najway Mahiaddin from Malaysia, Barry Likumahuwa from Indonesia and Za Feedo from Japan.

You get to also watch collaborations with local cultural troupes including Siong Leng Music Association that specialises in Nanyin Music, Sin Ee Lye Heng Teochew Puppetry Troupe which is the last Teochew Puppetry Troupe in Singapore and a Cantonese Opera Performance directed by Christopher Choo, one of the leading Cantonese Opera Artiste in Singapore to present a cultural twist to the audiences.

Enjoy contemporary acts playing alongside Cantonese Opera and Teochew Puppetry at  Pearl Hill City Park at Chinatown.

Other activities at the festival include visual art installations, food stalls, DJ sets, a Teochew Puppetry Stage and experimental exhibitions.

Tickets priced at S$48 per day and S$78 for both days are available online. Early bird discounted tickets priced at S$38 per day and S$68 for both days are still available if you purchase your tickets before 12 April 2016.
