On 26 August 2017, American rock band Foo Fighters will be electrifying National Stadium with their brand new world tour. Fans have been waiting for over two decades to make their grand return since 1996. Founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the passing of Kurt Cobain, the five man band consists of bassist Nate Mendel, rhythm and lead guitarist Pat Smear, drummer Taylor Hawkins and lead guitarist Chris Shiflett. The band has taken home Grammy Awards for Best Rock albums four times, with over 30 million copies of its eight albums sold worldwide.
In 2015, their 20th anniversary tour sold out at stadiums and areas all over the world – instantly. It was titled the “Broken Leg Tour” when it was nearly cut short by Grohl falling off a stadium stage in Sweden. He pushed on, obviously, performing well into November at sold out headlines at New York’s Citi Field, Boston’s Fenway Park and their first ever show in Cesena, Italy.
