Find out more about the Kingdom of Bhutan at Druk Asia’s “Discover Breathtaking Bhutan Travel Fair” at ION Station at Basement 4, ION Orchard from 18 to 30 October 2016. You can also stand to win a 4D3N all-expense paid trip to Bhutan worth S$8,600 when you take part in a photo contest. All you need to do is wear the gho or kira and post on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #Breathtaking Bhutan and a caption on how you would like to Discover Breathtaking Bhutan and why. The winner also gets to choose from five themed itineraries including adventure, trekking, cultural, festival or essential Bhutan.

At the fair, you can view the works of National Geographic photographer Ciril Jazbec and film maker Zuhariz Khuzaimah. See Bhutan through their eyes. Contemporary Bhutanese artist Asha Kama will also showcase art of Bhutanese subjects and iconography, textures, movements and many symbols in Bhutanese culture.
Ms. Tshomo, a Royal Weaver will demonstrate the trade of handloom, an ancient art of creation of fabric to make Kira, the traditional Bhutanese attire for women as well as the Gho for men. It takes up to three months to make a full kira. Ms. Tshomo has also worked on the Kitshothara Kira and the Shingle Gho for the Royal Wedding of the Bhutanese King and Queen. Replicas of the Royal Garments will be on exhibit.
Chef Sonam Tshering will also prepare Bhutanese specialties including Momo Dumplings that are filled with meat served with special Bhutanese Ezzay chilli compote, porridge, Buckwheat pancakes served with organic wild strawberry jam and drizzles of Bhutanese honey and other delicacies.
You can also purchase travel packages to Bhutan at the fair. The first 100 signups will enjoy a special airfare promotion for two to travel at S$868 instead of the usual S$1,208, excluding taxes for travel between 1 November 2016 and 28 February 2017.
