David Foster & Friends Are In Singapore For Hitman

2 November 2011, Singapore – At a press conference held at Pangaea at the Marina Bay Sands this morning, David Foster, Ashanti and Philip Bailey from Earth, Wind and Fire made an appearance. David Foster has returned to Singapore to amaze audiences with his HITMAN – David Foster and Friends concert performing at the Marina Bay Sands tonight and tomorrow night.

Sixteen Grammy Award winner, David Foster will be hosting the shows with his effervescent personality and brilliant piano accompaniment with special appearances by singer/songwriter Michael Bolton, multi platinum Grammy Award winning Ashanti, superstar Philip Bailey from Earth, Wind and Fire and English Tenor Russel Watson.

David Foster and friends have already performed in Tokyo, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. They were also meant to perform in Bangkok but were not able because of the floods.

David Foster spoke briefly about the sad incident of Charise’s father who was stabbed to death with an ice pick on Monday.  She is back in the Philippines and had to cut short her tour.

At the Press Conference, David spoke about his fear of elevators because how he got stuck in two elevators previously and how he walked up 57 flight of stairs in 19 minutes to get to the pool at the Marina Bay Sands.

Born To Sing Asia Finalists Chosen

Contestants were personally chosen by David to audition on stage as part of each concert in each city on the tour as part of the Born to Sing Asia competition.  During the concerts, live on stage, the audience was able to witness David’s innate knack and long history of discovering talent such as Celine Dion, Michael Buble and Charice in action as two finalists from each city compete on stage to be the winner.

One lucky overall winner gets to be flown to Las Vegas to take part in one David Foster sell-out show, including other surprises that will be unveiled at a later date.

For the Singapore leg of the tour, 15 year old Julia Abueva and 11 year old Miguel Antonio Vedanaigam were picked by David after seeing their 4 minute video that was uploaded to www.borntosingasia.com
