Circa Waves came into the indie scene back in 2013, and they have since trail blazed their way into fame. Their debut single, Get Away, reached universal acclaim and got them the coveted opening slot on the NME Awards tour. They are definitely the most exciting band in Britain right now, and I cannot believe they are coming to Singapore.
The charm of their music is that they are just a hilarious bunch of lads, making what’s genuine and goes straight to the heart. Some of my favourite songs from them are T-Shirt Weather, Young Chasers and Stuck In My Teeth.
For the Singapore leg, they will be joined by the soulful Riot !n Magenta. The Singapore-based quintet is known for their distinct melodies lined with edgy rhythmic beats, melding diverse musical elements of electronica, trip-hop and soul into calming, synth driven tracks. They will, no doubt, ignite the stage with their meticulously layered sound and emotionally charged performance.
They will all be playing on 23 October 2015 at 72-13, the TheatreWorks (near Robertson Walk). Tickets can be picked up from Dr. Martens stores from 16 September 2015 at the Wheelock Place and Capitol Piazza branches. No purchase is necessary, but will be limited to two tickets/persons aged 18 and above.
