Harry’s has partnered Chivas in an effort to support local musicians by offering free to view Jazz performances by Singapore jazz sensation Alemay Fernandez and guest vocalist Richard Jackson online at Facebook.com/HarrysSingapore on 13 and 27 June 2020 from 8.30 pm to 9.30pm.
Known for her sultry tone and powerhouse vocals, Fernandez tours internationally, and has headlined at notable jazz venues and festivals worldwide; including Birdland Jazz Club in New York, an honour only select Asian jazz artistes have had. Closer to home, Alemay has performed with Singapore Symphony Orchestra, as well as Jazz Association of Singapore Orchestras. She also makes regular appearances at the concerts of her mentors and Cultural Medallion recipients, “Mad Chinaman” Dick Lee, and Singapore’s “King of Swing”, Jeremy Monteiro.
On 13 June, Fernandez will perform classic jazz standards by Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra with keyboardist, Chok Kerong, whose compositions and arrangements have been performed by luminaries like Jeremy Monteiro, Rani Singam, T’ang Quartet and the Singapore Wind Symphony.
On 27 June, Fernandez and guitarist Anson Fung, will be performing blues and bossa nova numbers from Antônio Carlos Jobim, Etta James and Nancy Wilson.
Both virtual concerts will also feature well-loved jazz singer, Richard Jackson, as a guest vocalist.
