medici.tv, the world’s leading classical music channel, has partnered with the Singapore International Violin Competition to broadcast the competition’s third edition in full and live stream all performances on its dedicated website from 1 to 14 December 2022. Top young virtuosos will perform sensational violin repertoires under the baton of Joshua Tan (who conducts the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in the Grand Finals) and before a renowned jury chaired by Qian Zhou. The candidates’ native countries include China, Denmark, Germany, Hong-Kong, Japan, Latvia, USA, South Korea, Switzerland, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, and Ukraine.
The triennial Singapore International Violin Competition was launched in June 2014 as a landmark cultural initiative for Singapore and beyond, and has since grown to become one of the most globally distinctive competitions of its kind. Organised and hosted by the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, SIVC serves to promote the continued growth and strength of classical music. The competition showcases top young violinists from around the world against the backdrop of Singapore’s world-class performance venues, its national orchestra, and its internationally renowned music conservatory. SIVC is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
