10 October 2010, Singapore – 35 year old Ex Mediacorp Celebrity and Star Search 1995 winner and founder of Body Inc, Jacelyn Tay (郑秀珍) exchanged wedding vows and rings with 42 year old ex Mediacorp VP, Brian Wong (黄心川) at the Pan Pacific Singapore ballroom tonight with Reverend Tan Ye Peng from City Harvest Church officiating the Holy Matrimony. The couple chose the date 10/10/10 because it sounded like the tune of wedding march “ten, ten, ten ten”.
Amongst the 560 guests witnessing this auspicious day, were friends and family as well as Ms. Ellen Lee, MP for Sembawang GRC, Chang Long Jong, Deputy CEO of Mediacorp, other Mediacorp Managing Directors, celebrities including Patricia Mok, Christopher Lee, Huang Shinan, Pan Ling Ling, Chen Hanwei, Yvonne Lim, Terence Cao, Zheng Geping, Ann Kok, Wu Kaishen, Rayson Tan and Radio DJs Glenn Ong, Jean Danker.
Tonight, Jacelyn is dressed in a specially ordered exclusive white gown from the Vera Wang’s 2010 Fall bridal gown collection and a stunning pair of ear clips from Chopard’s Red Carpet High Jewellery collection which comprises four multi-coloured pearls of 45.45-carat, complemented with 19 scintillating rose-cut diamonds of 2.72-carat, surrounded by 46 round-cut diamonds of 0.45-carat. Jacelyn is the first to be seen in this white tulle strapless ball gown with allover shirring, floating crystal petals, and horsehair bow at waist, here in Singapore and The Link Wedding is pleased to have her do it justice at her wedding. Her hair and makeup were done by Celebrity Hair Stylist David Gan and Celebrity Makeup artist Andy Lee.
The theme for the night was blue chic. The wavy blue carpet of the Pan Pacific Ballroom is contrasted with the blue hydrangea, cream ivory rose table arrangements, light blue seat ribbons and flowing candle lit crystal stands complemented with white feathers. Jacelyn’s hand bouquet is a special creation of Sebastian from Sing See Soon Floral Creations and Events.
A Love Story Video showing the moments of how they came together and their journey to know God and one another. The professionally done video describes their journey in a fun and happy way. Just like any other couple, there are happy moments and tribulating ones, but the couple attributes their love and happiness to God, especially when both have very strong characters. The video brought laughter to the audience as there were some parts of the video which depicted Brian’s previous role at Mediacorp where Jacelyn used to be a client and he refused to see her to lower advertising rates for Body Inc.
During their thank you speech, Jacelyn thanked both mothers and Brian described his mum as a heroine and chokes as he thanked his mother with a loving Jacelyn comforting Brian on stage. The coupled knelt in front of their mothers and presented large bouquets of flowers to their mothers to show their gratitude and deep appreciation.
“Two are better than one. It is most ideal when two eventually become one” Brian Wong advises other to-be-wed couples as this was the inspirational phrase that got Jacelyn and Brian together.
