The Westin Singapore will launch 56 Green Rooms on levels 38 and 39 in conjunction with Earth Day. Energy consumption levels can be tracked and monitored via a meter on the in-room IPTV system which is colour coded and divided into Green, Amber and Red. The hotel participates in other green initiatives throughout its operations including:

  • Green limousine
  • Energy efficient lighting, water conserving low flow plumbing and sanitary fittings
  • Room sensors auto-shut off equipment when the room is not occupied
  • Bathroom amenities packaging are made from recycled material
  • Cleaning chemicals used from Ecolab are eco-friendly
  • Recycling programme for paper material and plastics
  • Recycled water from air-conditioners are used to water the plants within the Hotel

Guests who conserve the use of energy when staying at The Westin Singapore will help the hotel to donate US$1 per stay to UNICEF. Starwood Hotels and Resorts has raised over US$25 million and improved the lives of millions of children since 1995.
