Star Wars: Episode VIII is the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga as Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Production at Pinewood Studios in London has begun on 15 February 2016. The movie is scheduled for release in Singapore on 14 December 2017,

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Cast members Mark Hamil, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis return to the set. New cast members have been added to the set including Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

The sequel is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman while J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin and Tom Karnowski are the executive producers.

Steve Yedlin joins as Director of Photography, Bob Ducsay as Editor, Rich Heinrichs as Production Designer, Peter Swords King as Hair and Make-up Designer, and Mary Vernieu as US Casting Director. The rest of the returning crew members include Pipa Anderson as Co-Producer, VP Post Production, Neal Scanlan as Creative & Droid FX Creative Supervisor, Michael  Kaplan as Costume Designer, Jamie Wilkinson as Prop Master, Chris Corbould as SFX Supervisor, Rob Inch as Stunt Coordinator, Ben Morris as VFX Supervisor and Nina Gold as UK Casting Director.
