Andre Agassi headed down from his room at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore to the grand lobby of the five star hotel in the evening of 1 December 2014, a day ahead of the International Premier Tennis League. He had a special duty. He was to join Mrs Jennifer Yeo, the chairman of VIVIA Foundation, to officiate the lighting of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s 17 foot tall Candy Sweet Christmas Tree in aid of VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer.
The Christmas tree at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is like no other Christmas tree. It is adorned with more than 100 floral candy arrangements and giant lollipops. They are sold at S$250 and S$50 respectively and part of the sale proceeds will go to the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer. Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s pastry chefs and florists worked with Ms. Brenda Lee-Monteiro of Fiore Dorato to create these floral candy arrangements.
The hotel has also launched its festive booth in the main lobby next to the Christmas Tree. Festive goodies and takeaways are available for purchase till 26 December 2014 and opens daily from 10am to 9pm.
