Experience A Clean Five Blade Shave

Schick's Unexpected Blast of Hydration To Your Face
Schicks Unexpected Blast of Hydration To Your Face

4 February 2012, Singapore – Looking for the razor to improve your shaving experience without discomfort after shaving?  These days, even shavers have become so technologically advanced with improved aesthetics.

Check out these five shaving tips:

  1. Shave in the Evening – Saves time in the morning and allows your skin  to rejuvenate during the night
  2. Shave according to the grain – Use slow short strokes to give a closer and safer shaving experience.  Shaving against the grain causes redness, rashes, razor burns and ingrown hair.
  3. Rinse the blade in hot water when shaving – Rinse your blade often in hot water when shaving so that the blade is clean.  A clean blade allows an easier cut.
  4. Use a good shaving cream – Choose one that contains moisturising ingredients such as Vitamin E and Aloe Vera so that it forms a hydrating layer than softens the hair and helps protect the skin from redness and irritation.
  5. Choose a clean, sharp razor blade shaver – This will give you the closest shave.

We recommend two of the latest shavers whose blades do not tug and pull, thus offering minimal discomfort after shaving.  Having tried out both the shavers on the face for the past month,  my verdict is that these blades definitely deliver what their manufacturers claim them to be.   The shavers have not gone below the neck so I can’t really tell you if they work the same for any other parts of your body.

Gillette Fusion ProGlide

Gillette Fusion Proglide

The redesigned cartridge now comes with thinner and finer blade edges that glide through hair, reducing tug and pull.   Feel the blades glide through rather than shave.

Features

  • Re-engineered low cutting force blades – thiner, finer edges and a low resistance coating enable the blades to cut effortlessly through hair with less tug and pull.
  • Blade stabilizer – maintains optimal spacing for comfort, while allowing the blades to adjust to the contours of your face.
  • Snowplow Comfort Guard – streamlined to channel excess shave prep to help maintain optimal blade contact, stretching the skin for a close, comfortable shave.
  • Larger Lubrastrip – infused with mineral oil and lubricating polymers, enabling the razor to move smoothly over skin even on repeat strokes.
  • Precision Trimmer – improved to include an enhanced blade, a comb guard to better align long hairs, and new rinse-through slots.
  • Redesigned handle – bigger, more ergonomic grips for better control and improved transition between front and back shaving surfaces.
  • Microcomb – helps guide hair to the blade.

The Gillette Fusion ProGlide is available in a manual or powered version retailing at S$15.90 or S$21.90 respectively.

The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power’s handle features an on-board microchip that provides consistent power, shave after shave.  A low-battery indicator light signals when to change your AAA battery.   The razor shuts off automatically after eight minutes in case of accidental activation.   Both razors are shower safe.
