The next time you Grab a ride you will be able to let your driver know exactly where you are by snapping a photo and sending it over via GrabChat, the in-app chat function in the Grab app. GrabChat was launched in 2017 to allow drivers and passengers to message one another directly. I’ve gotten messages from the driver including slight delays in arrivals, or to confirm pick up locations as well as to tell me that the car is arriving.
Grab will also use these photos to enrich and bring more accuracy to designated Points-of-Interest (green dots). Grab also plans to let drivers share photos with passengers later in the year to reduce cancellations and time to find your ride.
