OCBC Embarks on Sponsorship in the Sport of Karting

OCBC Corporate Karting Challenge 2011

20 January 2011, Singapore – OCBC today announced its partnership with Singapore’s only public go-karting facility Kartright Speedway to launch the inaugural OCBC Corporate Karting Challenge 2011.

Drawing similarities between the sport and OCBC’s emphasis on the importance of work-life balance, team work and successful decision-making amongst colleagues, this challenge encourages the best drivers from organisations to compete in a four-hour endurance race held at the 750-metre-long technically-challenging track. There will be four rounds where the top four teams will vie for the trophy and public recognition during the Grand Final battle.

Each time will be made of four main drivers and two reserves. Every driver in the team plays an equally important role as the team is required to rotate driving duties amongst its drivers over the four-hour race.

There is an entry fee of S$3500 per team which covers the usage of karts, helmets, tyres and fuel, four complimentary race suits, a pre-selection round and a pre-racing karting clinic where a testing session will be held and racing techniques taught.

An organisation can submit more than one team until the first 36 teams have confirmed their participation.

Important dates to note:

21 May 2011, Saturday – Elminating Round 1
25 June 2011, Saturday – Eliminating Round 2
6 August 2011, Saturday – Eliminating Round 3
3 September 2011, Saturday – Grand Final
