Orchard Road is one of Asia’s most famous shopping street, and pretty much, a shopaholic’s wet dream. The entire stretch surrounds shoppers with options for every style and budget; from the luxurious ION Orchard to the more affordable Far East Plaza. It is only natural that it has become the unofficial fashion hub of Singapore, and the very place to hold the six-week fashion extravaganza Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2015 (FSO 2015/FB) for the sixth year running.
Packed full of activities from day one, here is the lowdown to what’s happening and when during this highly anticipated event!
Orchard Fashion Runway
11 April 2015 starting at 6.30P.M.
This Spring/Summer fashion season will once again put a halt to the vehicular bustle along Orchard Road, and transform the mundane tarmac into the magnificent outdoor catwalk for the coveted Orchard Fashion Runway on the 11 April 2015. Promising to be even bigger than before, there will be a record number of 176 models donning the latest designs for the thematic catwalk display.
Featuring 13 brands, they will also include 50 specially curated looks by acclaimed local designers to commemorate Singapore’s jubilee year, SG50. One of which will include renowned Singapore designer, Ashley Isham. He will be back again for the third year running to showcase his new Fall/Winter 2015 collection – fresh from his recent success at London Fashion Week.
To top that off, five celebrated local designers with diverse styles – bridal extraordinaire Francis Cheong, minimalistic Max Tan (max.tan), ruffled dreamer Chiang Xiao Jun (Pleatation), feminine urban Pauline Lim (PAULINE.NING) and street fashion favourite Kenny Lim (DEPRESSION) – will present another exceptional forward-looking collection “predicting” their own stylistic view of SG Next50 years. The fashion-loving crowd can also look forward to Aimer (China), Germain (France), Mary Katrantzou (London), Moiselle (Hong Kong), PAUL (Thailand) and Sean & Sheila’s (Indonesia) newest.
This year will also see the debut of micro-fashion on Singapore’s longest catwalk. 40 children aged four to eight years old will be sashaying and, most definitely, winning everyone’s adoration, with FOX Kids’ newest selections. In fact, as winners from the brand’s very own contest, they might just give those 100 over models a run for their money!
Everyone can get into the mood with a Fashion Party starting at ION Orchard from 6.30P.M. before the catwalk goes into full force at 8.00P.M.. Invited guests will also be treated to an exclusive Fashion Party at Mandarin Gallery, where shopping hours will be extended till 11.00P.M. that very night with special shopping and dining privileges.
