Celebrating the Coronation of The Queen of England

Queen Elizabeth II of England was officially crowned on 2 June 1953. Britain celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of the Coronation this year.

Every summer, Buckingham Palace opens up to the public where you can visit the Throne Room. There will also be a special exhibition this year to recreate Coronation Day featuring dress, robes and uniforms worn by the Royal family, including the Queen’s Coronation Dress and Robe and the famous Diamond Diadem.
