16 October 2012, Singapore – Chang Li Lin, an auditor at KPMG, and Samuel Lam, a medical student at NUS, will represent Singapore in the finals for Chengdu Pambassador 2012 later this year. The duo showed their passion and dedication to panda conservation in the semi-finals for Asia-Pacific held here last weekend.
Li Lin and Samuel will head to Chengdu, home of the giant panda, to meet the pandas and learn about panda rehabilitation and conservation. At the end of their three-week experience, they will go into the wild to explore the best ways to re-introduce pandas into their natural habitat.
Of the 16 finalists competing in the finals, three will be crowned “Chengdu Pambassador” to win USD$20,000 and go on a “Global Panda Protection Tour” in 2013 to visit pandas hosted in 11 countries and initiate local activities to raise awareness for endangered animal protection.
