14 October 2012, Roswell, New Mexico – Austrian skydiver and BASE jumper, Felix Baumgartner, 43, accomplished his mission for Red Bull Stratos to become the first man to achieve supersonic speed at freefall. Jumping off from the edge of space at 120,000 feet in a stratospheric balloon, Red Bull Stratos aims to deliver data for medical and scientific advancement for the future of space exploration from Felix Baumgartner’s jump.
Felix Baumgartner is no stranger here in Asia. In 1999, he claimed the world record for the highest parachute jump from a building by jumping off from Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. In 2007, he jumped off from the then tallest building in the world, Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan.
