29 April 2012, Singapore – Japan celebrates Golden Week 黄金週間 currently whereby the working class take a much needed break from work with vacations and celebrations.    The celebration is made up of days to commemorate various occasions.

  • 29 April – Showa Day to commemorate the birthday of the former Emperor Showa.
  • 3 May – Constitution Day marks the implementation of the post-war constitution
  • 4 May – Greenery Day is dedicated to the environment and nature
  • 5 May – Children’s Day or Boy’s Festival where families pray for the health and future success of their sons

In Singapore, a series of activities by Suntory’s premium malt beer and whisky range at Robertson Quay have been arranged.

Till 5 May, look out for Suntory’s Brand Ambassadors.  They will be dressed in contemporary yukata to meet and greet and answer your questions about Suntory’s Malt and Whisky range.  They will share the Premium Malt’s takumi serving ritual during their rounds, demonstrating the perfect ration of 30% foam and 70% beer.   Get spotted by the brand ambassadors and you will be entitled to a complimentary round of drinks – equivalent to a one-for-one discount.

For the whisky connoisseur, check out Suntory’s single-malt whiskies The Yamazaki, The Hakushu, Hibiki and Kakubin from the participating outlets.

Participating outlets include Orihara Shoten, Ebisu-Tei, En Grill & Bar, Bar 84, Shin Minori, Chikuwa Tei, Black & White Cocktail Bar & Bites & Yumeya
