17 April 2012, Singapore – Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay will be officially opened June with a series of activities which include music concerts featuring Jason Mraz and Corrine May, a 3-day green fair, a photography contest, a free outdoor movie screening and contests giveaways.  Named Rhythm with Nature,  the activities will be held from 29 to 30 June and 1 July 2012.

When Bay South Garden opens on 29 June 2012, experience its signature features such as the ‘Flower Dome’ and ‘Cloud Forest’ cooled conservatories; the Supertrees in the Golden Garden, Silver Garden and Supertree Grove; the Heritage Gardens; The World of Plants; and the Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes.

From 29 June 2012, Bay South Garden will be open to the public from 5.00am to 2.00am daily. Opening hours for the cooled conservatories and the aerial walkway in the Supertree Grove are from 9.00am to 9.00pm daily.

Entry to Bay South Garden will be free, with the exception of the cooled conservatories which showcase plants of high conservation value from two of the most endangered habitats in the world. Local residents (i.e. Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and holders of Employment Pass, Work Permit or Dependent’s Pass) will enjoy differential rates, with further concessions extended to senior citizens, children, schools, community groups and charitable organisations.   Click here for admission rates.

Jason Mraz will be the headline act for the opening concert of 29 June and Corrinne May will perform on 30 June.

Corrinne May is back after a 4-year hiatus. Her latest album “Crooked Lines” which is also her first new album in five years, was recently released last month.   She’ll be the first ever local artiste to perform at The Meadow.

The music performances will be held at The Meadow, an outdoor lawn with a panoramic backdrop of the Gardens’ cooled conservatories, Supertrees and the city skyline.   Tickets for the concert will be capped at 12,000.

  1. Walking from Marina Bay Sands

From Marina Bay Sands Expo / Convention Centre / Hotel, go onto the Garden Bay Bridge on level 4 which connects to the Dragonfly Bridge into Gardens by the Bay.

 

  1. Walking from Marina Bay Sands (Art Science Museum)

From MBS Art Science Museum, walk along the waterfront, past the Helix Bridge and walk under the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Walk past the Waterfront West Gate into Gardens by the Bay.

 

  1. Walking from Marina Barrage

From Marina Barrage, walk along the waterfront, past the Waterfront East Gate into Gardens by the Bay.

SUPERTREES and BRIDGE at Gardens By The Bay Singapore

By MRT/Bus

  1. Via the North-South Line: Alight at Marina Bay MRT Station (NS27)

Take Exit A and hop onto bus service 400. Alight 4 stops later at bus stop number B03 along Marina Gardens Drive.

 

  1. Via the Circle Line: Alight at Bayfront MRT Station (CE1)

Take Exit B and cross the Dragonfly Bridge to Gardens by the Bay. (Approximately: 5 mins)

 

By Taxi / Car drop-off – 18 Marina Gardens Drive Singapore 018953

  1. From East Coast Parkway (ECP) in the direction towards the city, take Exit 17A and turn left onto Marina Place. Follow through to Marina Boulevard and turn left at Marina Gardens Drive. Look out for designated drop off point.

 

  1. From ECP in the direction towards Changi Airport, take Exit 17 and turn right onto Central Boulevard. Turn right onto Marina Station Road and then left onto Marina Street. Follow through to Marina Boulevard and turn left at Marina Gardens Drive. Look out for designated drop off point.
