March 2012, Singapore – Logitech’s Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard may be the perfect companion for your iPad (all versions). I know it was for me, when I had the chance to review the product with my iPad 2.
Features
- Compact – The concave key cap design combines both the traditional and laptop keyboard
- Combo Case and Stand – The carrying case has a dual purpose of protecting your keyboard and also an adjustable stand to hold your iPad in your preferred angle. The stand lets you choose either a landscape or portrait view of your iPad.
- Bluetooth Pairing – Your iPad connects easily and quickly to the keyboard via Bluetooth pairing as long as the two devices are within 30 feet from each other.
- Media Controls – You can manage your music and entertainment with the keyboard’s play, pause, volume up and down functions.
- Keyboard Dimensions – 28.8 (L) x 13 (W) x 1 (H) cm
- Stand Dimensions – 29.6 (L) x 10.6 (W) x 11 (H) cm
- Weight: 612 grammes
Why Do I Like the Keyboard?
- The tactile keyboard sets up quickly and is relatively easy after figuring it out the first time. You don’t need to read the manual to figure it out.
- I like the feel of the keyboard when I was typing my stories. The length of the keyboard is almost the size of a 15 inch laptop’s keyboard.
What I didn’t Like?
- The keyboard was rather heavy to lug around as I often have to carry my iPad, camera, lenses, flash and other stuff as well. People who’ve carried my bag would empathize with me.
- Occasionally, the bluetooth connection would be interrupted even though the keyboard was just in front of my iPad.
If I were to compare this key board to the Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad 2 by ZAAG, I would prefer the latter. It acts as a keyboard as well as a protector for the iPad 2 screen and is lightweight too.
