16 June 2011, Singapore – Now Android (Version 1.6 and above) mobile users will be able to access BBC’s global news and information, as well as correspondent features and analysis with the BBC News App.
Key features of the app include
- Simple design with easy scrolling for efficient browsing
- Watch or listen to the latest news headlines
- Listen live to BBC World Service radio
- Personalise your home screen by adding and removing sections
- Set text size to suit your preferences
- A choice to automatically update content in the background
The app’s video experience is accessible over wifi and 3G connections.
This same application has been available to iPhone and iPad users since April 2010 of which there has been over 3 million downloads outside of UK.
