1 March 2011, Singapore – Singapore Telecommunications Limited today announced that it has renewed its partnership with Formula One to be the Title Sponsor for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix for two more years in 2011 and 2012 after a successful partnership since 2008.

SingTel will be introducing a multi-platform viewing experience this year across three ESPN Star Sports platforms and exclusive to SingTel’s STAR Sports on mio TV Channel 115, online, and mobile devices.  This will also be the first year that the Formula One will be shown in true HD.

mio TV will broadcast ‘live’ the entire Formula One season from 2011 Formula One Qantas Australian Grand Prix on 27 March through to the last race in Brazil in November.  SingTel also has plans to bring the excitement of F1 to more people in more communities right across the island, which will be announced later.

2011 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix will be held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 23 to 25 September and 65,000 general admission tickets will be released for sale on 3 March 2011,  9am Singapore Time.

Early Bird grandstand purchases from 3 March to 8 May will get you savings of up to 17% with the Republic, Esplanade Waterfront, Padang and Bay Grandstands.

There is also a new group booking scheme for the Bay, Padang and Pit Grandstands in response to feedback from fans who have requested for special packages for groups of family and friends.  Savings of up to 10% for fans who purchase four or more tickets in one booking and 16% for groups of eight or more.

And if you combine the early-bird discounts with the Group Booking Special, fans can enjoy up to 30% off a regular priced individual ticket in selected grandstands.

The Group Booking Special is applicable for the first 40% of the relevant grandstands’ inventory and is available via the official Singapore GP website, ticketing hotline and all SISTIC outlets.

Stamford Grandstand costs S$200 lower this year and spectators can enjoy close proximity to the main entertainment stage in the Padang.

Spectators with limited mobility will get an additional wheelchair accessible platform at Zone 1 this year.

Single-day walkabout and Single-Day Zone 4 Walkabout tickets which offer access to the entertainment stage at the Padang as well as the Esplanade stages and the wheelchair accessible platform tickets will be released at the onset of the regular phase on 9 May.

Grammy Award-winning Linkin Park has been confirmed as the headlining act on race day, 25 September 2011 at the Padang main stage.   Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide since their debut album Hybrid Theory was released in 1996.  Their latest release ‘A Thousand Suns’ debuted at the top of Billboard’s Top 200 album chart and has produced two number 1 singles.   A Thousand Suns marks the 3rd consecutive Linkin Park album to reach number one.  For the past six months, Linkin Park has been on the road in support of their ‘A Thousand Suns World Tour’.  They will also be headlining the Download and iTunes Festivals in England before coming to Singapore in September
