Hotel Indigo Melbourne

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders Looks Good from its facade.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders will soon open its doors to guests in the CBD precinct of Melbourne, Australia. It was planned for 10 August 2023. We were in Melbourne last week and saw works still in progress for the hotel. The lobby had yellow tones with larger-than-life black-and-white photos. A quick check on IHG.com shows that rooms are available from 22 August 2023.

The 216-room hotel embodies its Flinders Lane neighbourhood’s creative and historical spirit with its bold, artistic design. The hotel design is inspired by the late German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton.

The property operated as a Holiday Inn for several decades. After Pro-Invest Group acquired the building, the hotel underwent an A$20 million refurbishment. This is Pro-Invest Group’s second Hotel Indigo in the portfolio, the first being Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre. Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders will feature a street-side Spanish tapas restaurant & bar, and meeting facilities for up to 200 people.

Room categories available at the Hotel Indigo Melbourne include King Standard, Standard Room, King Standard High Floor, 2 Double Standard Atrium View, 2 Double Standard City View, King Premium, Premium Room, King Premium Corner City View, King 1 Bedroom Suite Spencer Street View, King 1 Bedroom Corner Suite Balcony.

The hotel is just a stone’s throw from Southern Cross Train Station and Bus Terminal which makes it convenient to get to and from Melbourne Airport if you are catching the SkyBus, which operates in regular intervals of 15 minutes.

As at March 2023, IHG has 262 open and pipeline Hotel Indigo hotels globally. In Australasia, Hotel Indigo has opened in Adelaide and Brisbane, with pipeline hotels soon in Melbourne and Auckland. The first Hotel Indigo property we stayed in was Bangkok followed by Singapore.
