The four-storey building at 35 Robinson Road across from Lau Pa Sat today was built in 1927. F.G. Lundon, the architect from Singapore’s oldest architectural firm Swan and Maclaren designed the hotel. It was first established as the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company building. It then became the Cable and Wireless Building. The Telecommunications Authority of Singapore took over the building in 1995. And in 2001 it became the Ogilvy Centre and most recently a hotel.

The hotel is located in the heart of the central business district amidst the high-rise offices surrounding it. It is also within walking distance of four different MRT lines. Raffles Place and Marina Bay Financial Centre are also within walking distance. Many quality bars, restaurants and places to discover are all within reach.
