NTUC FairPrice Extends Discount Schemes for Seniors and Low-Income Families till End 2022

NTUC FairPrice extends its savings schemes for Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation and Community Health Assist Scheme Blue cardholders for another year until 31 December 2021. This extension is estimated to help eligible customers save over S$11 million. Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, seniors and CHAS Blue Cardholders have been enjoying S$54 million in discounts since 2015. In 2021, over S$10 million in discounts were handed out. The newly launched CHAS Blue Discount Scheme is also estimated to cost more than $730,000 since its introduction in July this year.

Current discount schemes for seniors and low-income families

FairPrice now offers four initiatives to help seniors and low-income families stretch their dollars further when shopping at FairPrice. These include:

To enjoy the PG, MG or CHAS Blue discount schemes, eligible customers need to present their MG, PG or CHAS Blue card, provided by the government, at cashier counters upon checking out their purchases. Similarly, at self-check-out counters, customers need to select the MG, PG or CHAS Blue discount option. These discounts are valid for purchases of up to S$200 per transaction per day.

This discount is available at all FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Shop stores, FairPrice Finest outlets, FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets, FairPrice On Wheels, and Unity pharmacies.

FairPrice is also extending its Pioneer Generation Proxy Initiative until 30 June 2022 so family members of seniors can enjoy savings as they assist PG members to run their grocery errands on Mondays and Wednesdays.
