I Race for Nurses - Assisi Home & Hospice

Appreciate Assisi Hospice Nurses With “I Race for Nurses”

Walk, run & donate to show your appreciation to nurses this Nurses’ Day. This Nurses’ Day, Assisi Hospice is launching “I Race for Nurses” campaign to encourage the public to appreciate nurses by walking, running and donating.

The hospice’s goal is to cover a total of 15,000 km so that all 150 Assisi nurses will receive a S$100 voucher each from adidas Singapore for Nurses Day 2021. An Assisi Hospice nurse walks 12km per day to care for patients with terminal illnesses.

There are four race categories to choose from – 12km, 21k, 50km or 250km. You have a whole month in July to complete the race. Take part as an individual or for a team of up to 5 people with your friends. Entry is free and the top 100 individuals and top 20 teams with the longest distances will win a Finisher’s Medal.

Assisi Hospice provides palliative care for patients and families that preserves their dignity and quality of life. Patients of any race, faith and financial position are cared for. The hospice at 832 Thomson Road next to Mount Alvernia Hospital is managed by a team of specialist doctors, nurses, allied health and pastoral care professionals.

Patients with life limiting illnesses receive medical care, as well as psychosocial, emotional and spiritual care. Assisi Hospice is housed in a six-storey purpose-built building that provides a homely ambience with cosy spaces for patients and loved ones. There are 85 inpatient beds, including specialised wards for Dementia Palliative Care and Paediatric Palliative Care, a Day Care centre and the outreach of a Home Care Team. The hospice serves over 2,600 patients a year. It was founded in 1969 by the Sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood.
