The third edition of Mizuno Ekiden returns this year on 19 August 2017 from 4 pm onwards at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. The race will be open to no more than 5,000 runners and will expect an increased participation from regional countries with the introduction of the ‘Running Club Category’. This is to allow competitive running teams in Asia to sign up in teams of four and race towards the top prize of S$2,200 worth of cash and vouchers.

The Running Club category is open to all running clubs in Southeast Asia that have been active for at least three months. Team members have to be residents or permanent residents of any ASEAN country.

Mizuno Ekiden celebrates positive Japanese values such as perseverance, resilience and teamwork with the Ekiden-styled relay race. There will also be a Matsuri Race Village where runners and members of public can enjoy Japanese food and take part in Japanese games and activities.

Runners can register in teams of four across four categories:

  • Open Category 42.195 km
  • Open Category 21.1 km
  • Corporate Category 21.1 km
  • Running Club Category
