The first time I stepped into Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 was in 2012, a year after it opened. This year I returned for two nights in October to attend the Project Aloft Star 2016 finals which was held at WXYZ Bar. Sofie Retief from Singapore walked away as champion amongst the five finalists. Â Located in the busy street of Sukhumvit 11, much has not changed since. The welcoming familiar sight of the steps that illuminate at night from the main road to the lobby and the friendly staff and spacious lobby brought back great memories four years back.
Another Aloft property we stayed at was the Aloft Kuala Lumpur giving us more exposure to what the Aloft brand has to offer.
The high-rise leisure hotel offers 297Â spacious and comfortable rooms while offering tech-savvy guests a fun social experience.
There are plenty of spaces throughout the hotel for guests to rest or mingle with other guests. The fuss-free hotel allows guests to pick and choose the service and amenities they require any time.
Play a game of pool at RE:MIX lounge at the lobby level.
The Neighbourhood
The hotel is conveniently located amongst many food and beverage outlets, body and foot massage outlets, tailors and small retailers. The BTS station is within walking distance provided it does not rain. Street food stalls are set up in the night so you can indulge in local fare.
Or if you like a night view of the city over food and drinks, you can walk over to the nearby Fraser Suites serviced apartment’s rooftop bar Above Eleven.
Rooms at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11
I was put up in an Urban Room which was spacious and comfortable. The desk was equipped with two universal electrical sockets. The room offers plug-and-play with a connectivity station that recharges gadgets and links to the 42″ LCD TV. The desk had a view overlooking the buildings in the neighbourhood.
This sofa area is perfect for those who would not want to dirty the bed before changing out of the clothes they have worn the whole day. You can also enjoy the items you pick out from RE:FUEL to enjoy here.
I cannot deny that the beds are very comfortable. But I could do with a much firmer pillow.
En-suite Bathrooms
The Urban Room bathrooms are spacious. It is also a walk-in wardrobe as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. The ensuite bathrooms are quite spacious, bright and very clean.
Toilets also come with a wash hose to ensure you can wash clean after a poop.
Aloft Hotels all around provide BLISS Shower and Two-in-one Shampoo Conditioner dispensers.
The suites offer a much larger bathroom with separate showers and bathtub and two basins.

Wellness Facilities
Your key card gives you access to the 24-hour RE:CHARGE gym so you can work out all that delicious food you have indulged in during your stay in vibrant Bangkok.
With the hot and humid weather in Bangkok, the 80.06 sqm splash pool is very inviting offering views of the high-rise neighbourhood. The pool is open anytime from 6 am to 11 pm. Deck chairs are available for you to get a tan or lounge pods to keep the sun away as you take a nap or read a book.
Food & Beverage Outlets at Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11
The 24-hour RE:FUEL at the lobby offers refreshments and microwavable food. Here you can purchase cup noodles, chips, fruits or hot food should you be hungry at any time of the day. The selection of beer, spirits and soft drinks or hot coffee and tea offers guests the convenience without having to head out of the hotel.
I decided to indulge in some Basil Pork rice and chicken drumlets. The Basil Pork Rice was deliciously spicy.
These chicken drumlets go pretty well with beer or a bottle of wine.
WXYZ Bar offers cocktails and spirits in a relaxing environment with events focusing on acoustic performances from local artists. The craft cocktail ingredients served here are fresh and homemade which features at least one home-crafted ingredient. Enjoy Thai Long Ice Tea, Spicy Kaffir Lime Bubbles, Fiery Mangtini or the Thai Love and others. The bar operates from 4 pm to 12 am from Sunday to Wednesday and 4 pm to 2 am from Thursday to Saturday.
From Wednesday to Saturday, enjoy the music with resident and guest DJs.
Crave Wine Bar and Restaurant is where you can get your breakfast fix with a buffet spread of both international and local fare. A good spread of hot dishes are also available. Ala Carte Lunch and Dinner is also available.
Meeting and Conference Facilities
There are six meeting rooms at the hotel. The largest meeting space is 92sqm. The bright colour scheme here is synonymous with Aloft Hotels around the world, where carpets are patterned with lines or hexagons.
