A new golf course opens at the Desaru Coast in Desaru, Johor Malaysia. Located in the premium integrated destination resort, which is undergoing the first of a three-phased development, the 27-hole course designed by Ernie Els has recently opened on 24 September 2016. The Valley Course, a second par 72, 7,200 yard 18-hole championship golf course designed by Vijay Singh is expected to open early 2017. The Els Club Desaru Coast is the second location in Malaysia after the opening of The Els Club Teluk Datai at the north-eastern island of Langkawi in October 2014.
The Ocean Course offers three distinctly different nine hole courses – a Par 36 Lakes, Par 36 Coast and Par 37 Ridge. Golfers can play a variety of loops such as the 7335 yards, par 72 Lakes and Coast; 7,337 yards Par 73 Lakes & Ridge and the 7,362 yards Par 73 Ridge & Coast. The course has a fleet of 88 Precedent buggies. It also rents out Titleist golf clubs.
Green fees inclusive of the use of buggies cost RM424 for weekdays and RM530 for weekends.

Golfers here can enjoy the facilities at the 4,180 sqm clubhouse which include a golf shop, locker rooms, private function rooms and two casual dining restaurants. You can also learn or improve your golf game at the Els Performance Golf Academy. It features a 330 yard practice tee, undercover hitting areas, short game arena with two greens and state of the art swing analysis studio.
There is another nine hole Par 3 Golf Course – The Little Easy. Located adjacent to The Els Performance Golf Academy, the holes range in distance from 50 metres to 150 metres. You can play in many directions and is great for corporate events and team building programmes. This course measures 1,064 yards and is par 27. The first tee off starts at 7.30am and the last tee off is at 5pm.
The Els Club Desaru Coast is owned by Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd and the golf courses are managed by Troon Golf.
It takes 1hour 30minutes by can from Singapore to Desaru Coast via the Causeway. You can also take a 30 minute ferry from Changi Ferry Terminal in Singapore to Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal followed by 30 minutes drive to Desaru Coast.
The Els Club Desaru Coast is part of the Desaru Coast integrated resort.
