Cathay Pacific Opens New Lounge in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Cathay Pacific Airways opened a brand new lounge today at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei.

Located at level 4 of Departure Hall in Terminal 1, the 1,253 sqm lounge adopts the new lounge design seen in other key Cathay Pacific’s key destinations in the region including Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Manila and Bangkok.

The lounge has a capacity for 245 people, approximately 100 more than the previous lounge. Designed by Studioilse led by Ilse Crawford, the new lounge helps passengers feel relaxed with the senses engaged focusing on wellbeing as a core principle. Warm, natural materials such as wood and stone as well as softened acoustics and warm lighting are used in the lounge.

The lounge gives you sort of a living room feel rather than a traditional airport lounge. The Taipei Lounge is the first to feature the new Solo Chair which comprises a spacious seat designed with high partitions on either side to give you extra privacy, a side table, reading lamp and a coat hook.

The Bureau offers five individual workstations with dual operating system iMacs and printers with free Wi-Fi access throughout the lounge.

The Noodle Bar, a signature of Cathay Pacific Airways’ lounges, offers a selection of noodle soup such as the Wonton Noodle soup, Dan Dan Noodle as well as the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. Other Taiwanese favourites such as Minced Pork Rice and Bubble Milk Tea are also offered here. Did I see Bubble Milk Tea??

The Food Hall is another dining area. Here passengers can enjoy lighter items such as cold cuts, cheeses, salads, fruits, desserts and tapas.

The Bar offers a variety of freshly blended cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

Bathrooms are available in the lounge for the convenience of guests. There are no shower facilities within the lounge.

Cathay Pacific First and Business Class passengers, Silver Marco Polo Club Members and above and Sapphire oneworld members and above departing from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport can access the lounge.

Cathay Pacific operates 114 flights per week between Hong Kong and Taipei while Dragon Air operates seven flights per week.
