Samsung GALAXY Note 3 & the all-new GALAXY Gear watch will be in Singapore stores from 28 September 2013. Pricing is not available yet. We had a preview of the two devices. Read on to find out what we think of them.
Samsung GALAXY Note 3
The Samsung GALAXY Note 3 takes the similar form as the Note 2, but is lighter and slimmer. The Samsung GALAXY Note 3 also features a synthetic leather back cover giving it a more expensive & executive touch. Available only in Black & White during the initial launch, I personally feel that the Black one will be easier to maintain and there is a “leathery” smoothness on the black model while the white version is more rubbery.
What impressed me most is the new & improved suite of Air Command features that improves productivity and organisation of your documents. The handwriting recognition is fast and accurate that after you jot down a contact number on the Action Memo, you can choose to make a direct call out from the note you have just made or even save it as a contact on your phone.

There are many other useful cool features with the S Pen. See video below for more cool features from S Pen.
Samsung GALAXY Note 3 is one of the first to come with a USB 3.0 connection slot. With the USB 3.0 cable, you will be able to transfer and backup files much faster to your laptops that have a USB 3.0 slot.
Overall, the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 has proved itself to be the ultimate productivity smartphone in the market. While equipped with a 13 megapixels camera and a vivid 5.7″ Super AMOLED Full HD Display the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 is also the attractive choice for a lifestyle device.
Samsung GALAXY Gear Watch
Samsung GALAXY Gear watch is made to compliment your mobile experience with the Samsung GALAXY Note 3. The GALAXY Gear is a cool gadget that stands out as a fashion statement. Fast and easy to use, the basic controls are the usual swiping and tapping which I was able to figure out and get used to it within minutes of using it.
The cool features includes the built-in 1.9 megapixels camera for photo taking and HD video recording (720p) and a built-in mic & speaker for picking up and making calls directly from the watch. These two features will make one feel like “I am Bond… James Bond.” or a bodyguard on watch when making a call.
The GALAXY Gear cannot be charged by itself, it will come with a charging case for you to clip on the watch before USB charging thru a MHL to USB cable.
Overall the GALAXY Gear is an attractive watch even without its cool functions. But it definitely appeals to gadget geeks like me who do not mind looking silly when talking to a watch. But the only setback is the watch is not water resistance, so you have to be extra careful when washing your hands.
