The Phantom of the Opera has started its season here in Singapore this week. Canon, the presenting sponsor of the musical, will be auctioning off five limited edition “The Phantom of the Opera” themed PowerShot Ns starting from 18 July 2013. This auction is a partnership with MediaCorp for the Singapore Cancer Society and will run on air over 12 MediaCorp radio stations as part of Canon’s annual “Making a Difference” charity campaign.
The limited edition cameras will come with an exclusive packaging and limited edition of The Phantom of the Opera premiums which features autographs by the cast. Speaking at the media call for The Phantom of the Opera yesterday morning, President and CEO of Canon Singapore, Mr. Kensaku Konishi shared “We are very grateful for this opportunity to use the critically-acclaimed ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ as a platform to unify people from different backgrounds to share in the joy of the arts and to rally public support from different backgrounds to share the joy of the arts and to rally public support and awareness for the inspiring efforts of the SCS. Through our contribution, we hope to help the SCS improve the quality of life of needy cancer patients in Singapore and the means to provide patients with the treatment they need.
Audience at ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ can also take photos at the photo booth located outside the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands during the seven-week production of the musical. Proceeds from the sale of the photo prints will also be donated to the Singapore Cancer Society.
