The opening of the flagship store also coincides with the launch of a new double rib aluminium design ZR-Geo. It is manufactured through a process called bending and folding where the aluminium is bent for all four sides, similar to making a paper box. This process enables the thickness of the aluminium to be uniform. The boxy ZR-Geo features multi-position telescoping handles that lets you adapt to your height and can also be fully extended or collapsed as needed, TSA locks, a one touch stopper button that keeps the caster wheels from moving as well as a fully lined interior with mesh pockets. The ZR Geo is available in Silver or Black and seven sizes with a price range from S$1,129 to S$1,599. ZR-Geo weighs 4.3kg to 7.4kg
German luggage brand RIMOWA opened its largest flagship store in South-East Asia at Mandarin Gallery, taking over the units of Vertu and Tumi. Interestingly, RIMOWA’s boutique originally located on the second floor has been taken over by ZERO HALLIBURTON. The new RIMOWA flagship store takes up 2,500 square feet and features the world’s finrst Small Leather Goods display of its kind. This means now you can touch and feel the products of this category such as wallets and other premium leather accessories.
SAMSONITE launched the world’s first 1.9kg ultra-light luggage FIRELITE using Samsonite’s CURV technology earlier this year but only recently launched the television commercial from 11 April 2013. The Firelite collection is available in Red, Blue, Black and Silver in three sizes and priced between S$710 to S$870
The television commercial was shot at Lion’s Head in Table Mountain National Park, Cape Town, South Africa featuring Highlining extreme sport using the key attributes and merits of Firelite – lightness and durability. The integrated campaign encompasses broadcast, online, print and outdoor advertising and is aired on Fox Channels and Channel News Asia while online ads run on various websites including Yahoo!. The outdoor component includes ad placements at Raffles Place and Orchard SMRT while Print ads run in both The Straits Times and The Business Times.
