For the second year, Erdinger is bringing the traditional German Spring Celebration, Maifest, back on 10 and 11 May 2013 from 630pm to 1130pm at Clarke Quay Central Fountain Square.
The centerpiece of any Maifest will be a Maibaum or Maypole, massive pole is erected at the centre of the festival and is wrapped with multi-coloured ribbons by people dancing around the pole. To make things different this year, Erdinger will bring the first technology-crafted nine metre tall digital Maypole to Singapore, where festival goers can participate in the decoration of the Maypole online.
From 2 May 2013, Erdinger fans can begin their customisation for their very own Maypole designs from a variety of design templates via a microsite, www.erdingermaifest.com. The submitted designs will then be periodically displayed on the Maypole’s LED screens throughout the Erdinger Maifest.
Erdinger Maifest at Clarke Quay is free admission with live performances by German Superband, Ois Easy.
