LOVE Was Spread On Valentine’s Day

Valentines Day 2013

15 February 2013, Singapore – During this season of love, other than fancy gifts and romantic dinners, LOVE was spread to the less privileged at Royal Plaza on Scotts while Greenfields Milk spread free milk and roses to passers-by on the streets. When LOVE is in the air, Scoot held a kissing competition on board its flights.

On 13 February, Greenfields Milk’s mascot cow, Gracie, was spotted outside Mandarin Gallery rewarding passers-by with packets of Greenfields fresh and chocolate malt milk, as well as roses when they participated in simple tasks such as serenading with love songs, doing jumping jacks or a simple peck on the cheek. A total of 100 roses and 500 packs of milk were given out in the hour.

On Valentine’s Day, guests and employees of Royal Plaza on Scotts spread joy to the less privileged through a fund-raising initiative and raised S$2,185 for The Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore, a charity supported by Community Chest.  Guests of the hotel and award-winning restaurant, Carousel, shared their happiness by purchasing roses for their partners, family members and friends at $6 a stalk. While at the hotel lobby, they indulged in the fun by taking instant photographs with quirky props, against a backdrop specially designed for the occasion, at $5 for two pictures.

Scoot, Singapore’s newest low-cost carrier, celebrated its first Valentine’s Day with a “Longest Smooch on Scoot” competition on board two of its flights. The competition were HOT, couples who participated in the competition were inseparable and were unable to part lips for the entire journey. They kissed while standing, sitting, squatting and persisting till the flight was about to descend.

Mr Mark Eric Mercado Castor and Ms Don Roxanne Vidar Dela Cena beat three other couples and locked lips for 35 minutes on Scoot’s flight from Singapore to Bangkok. The winning couple walked away with a pair of ScootBiz tickets to any of Scoot’s destinations plus 1-night accommodation, on the house.
