31 December 2012, Singapore – Singapore Changi Airport commemorated 50 million passengers in 2012 rewarding year old lawyer from Jakarta, Indonesia, Ms. Prayanto Inkarani (in photo above) who flew in from Jakarta to Singapore on 28 December 2012 morning on board Garuda Indonesia’s GA824. She walked away with the top prize of S$50,000 worth of prizes including retail products ranging from bags, jewellery to and OSIM massage chair, shopping vouchers from Changi Airport as and a pair of Business Class tickets from Garuda Indonesia

Passengers from GA 824 were welcomed at Terminal 3 as the aircraft received a water salute and they each received a special gift pack containing shopping vouchers, souvenirs and a commemorative certificate. Garuda Indonesia first flew to Singapore from Jakarta in 1966 to the then Paya Lebar Airport and later moved its operations to Changi Airport in 1981. The airline connects Singapore to 4 Indonesian cities (Bali, Balikpapan, Jakarta and Makassar) on 134 weekly flights.

Changi Airport handled 46.3 million passengers for the first 11 months this year. The airport has seen double digit growth to and from destinations in Northeast Asia and South Asia while the traditionally strong markets such as Southeast Asia, Southwest Pacific and Europe continues to grow healthily.
