21 July 2012, Singapore – The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 was launched today in Singapore. The GALAXY Note 10.1 was designed to work like the traditional pen and paper situation but outfitted into a 10.1-inch display. With a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, it is designed to simplify idea capture, information access and multi-tasking.
The GALAXY Note 10.1 features side-by-side multitasking with the “Multi Screen“, Samsung’s S Pen, S Note templates and productive tools, Learning Hub for accessing educational curricula and Adobe Photoshop Touch for photo editing. Its advanced hardware technology includes a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 2GB or internal RAM. There is also a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera.
“History has shown that taking notes, capturing ideas immediately, and sketching to realize them is the most personal and natural method to be productive and creative in their tasks. The advanced technology and features included in GALAXY Note 10.1 give users the power to produce, create and customize communications,” shared Miss Irene Ng, Vice President, Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd
The GALAXY Note 10.1 comes in three connectivity options:
- WiFi-only version
- WiFi-and-3G HSPA-Plus connectivity version – allows you to make phone calls and send and receive SMS.
- WiFi-and-LTE version later this year.
The recommended retail price for the GALAXY Note 10.1 (3G+WiFi/16GB version) is S$998, while the GALAXY Note 10.1 (WiFi/16GB version) will be S$798. Besides the 3G version, the WiFi version will be available exclusively at Best Denki from this Saturday 25 August 2012. The 3G version will be available islandwide.
MULTI SCREEN FEATURE
Utilise two different applications side-by-side simultaneously for true and easy multitasking. View web pages, videos or other applications while writing or sketching with the S Pen on the other half of the screen. You can freely capture and crop images, and paste them onto the other screen to make personal notes.
The Pop Up Play feature first introduced in the GALAXY S III is available on the GALAXY Note 10.1 allowing you to overlay your videos in a floating window anywhere on the screen. You can also adjust the size of the video window.
S PEN & S NOTE
The 6.5mm S Pen input on a 10.1-inch display is what sets the GALAXY NOTE 10.1 apart from other brands. The advanced S Pen is embedded directly in the device and when removed automatically launches applications including preloaded Adobe Photoshop Touch, S Note, S Planner, Crayon physics and Polaris Office. Or if you prefer, you can set your own preferred application to be launched.
The S Note lets you combine notes and sketches with other digital content in ready-to-use templates. S Note is also integrated with knowledge search engines so that you can search and find information.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOUCH
Worth S$13.49, the Adobe Photoshop Touch is preloaded on the GALAXY Note 10.1. It is optimised for the S Pen where you are able to control brush size and opacity by just adjusting the pressure of the pen on the screen.
Popular Photoshop features such as layers, selection tools, adjustments and filters are also available.
