1 August 2012, Tokyo – AirAsia Japan starts its domestic routes as the newest low-cost carrier based in Narita International Airport in Japan today with daily flights to Fukuoka and Sapporo today.
JW8541 took off at 7am this morning with a flight load of 80% to Fukuoka while the inaugural flight to Saporo (JW8521) took off with 157 guests on board.
“AirAsia and ANA entered into a joint venture only about a year ago and the response has been overwhelming. I am delighted and emotional to see our first flights take off today to Fukuoka and Sapporo” said Kazuyuki Iwakata, CEO, AirAsia Japann.

AirAsia Japan is offering one way fares between Sapporo, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Tokyo for as low as ¥100 (S$2) from 12.01am on 2 August 2012 to 11.59pm on 5 August 2012 for the travel period from 28 August to 27 October 2012. These celebratory fares are available online at www.airasia.com.
