Marvel’s The Avengers Released on Labour Day

4 May 2012, Singapore – Marvel’s The Avengers opened on Labour Day in Singapore creating a record breaking All Time Biggest Opening Day of S$2.23 million. Tickets to the movie has been snapped up so much so that I haven’t been able to get tickets yet.

The Super Hero team up of a lifetime features iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency S.H.I.E.L.D starts a recruitment for a team to fight an unexpected enemy that threatens global safety and security.

The movie has achieved a few records:

• All Time Biggest Disney Opening Day
• All Time Biggest Single Trading Day
• All Time Biggest 3D Box Office Opening Day

• Fastest Movie in history to cross the S$2 million mark

It beat Spiderman 3’s record of S$1.02 million on opening day on Labour Day of 2007.

Marvel’s The Avengers has began its rollout in 39 territories outside of the US and opened #1 in every market with a record-breaking international cumulative of US$178.4 million as at 29 April 2012.

Soundgarden is back with single ‘Live to Rise’ after a 15 year hiatus. ‘Live to Rise’ will be featured in Avengers Assemble Soundtrack.
