18 March 2012, Singapore – English radio station Power 98FM recently underwent a revamp of its logo as well as programming.   With two new additions to the station, radio veteran Hubert Tang and the all too familiar Jamie Yeo with start work tomorrow morning on the Power Breakfast Show as they join Sonja Steinmetz  from 6am to 10am on weekdays.

The Power trinity comprising 30 year old singleton Sonja, the older 40 something Hubert with a voice of wisdom and the diva hot mama Jamie Yeo will start your day with laughter all the way to work.  You can expect to get your short of ‘Caffeine News’ in 60 seconds as well as guess the song that the DJ is humming in ‘Hummertime’.

Jamie joined the entertainment industry in 1996 where she appeared in a SingTel call-waiting commercial.  She went into modelling for two years and appeared in many magazines and television commercials.  She was also in Mediacorp Channel 5’s ‘Growing Up’ and Channel 8’s ‘Holland V’ and ‘The Champions’.  She also hosted ‘Say It With Music’ on 98.7FM and was popular with teens who voted her Favourite DJ in Lime magazine’s poll for 3 years in a row.   Jamie also performed in a couple of plays such as ‘The Swimming instructor’, ‘Comic Potential’ with Hossan Leong and Michael Chiang’s ‘Private Parts’.   From 2006 – 2010, she presented ‘Football Extra’ and ‘Football Crazy’ and ‘Soccer Cities UK’ in ESPN Star Sports’

Hubert joined Perfect 10 (98.7FM) and did the rounds on all the time belts from late nights to pioneering the first two hosts Morning Show with Dahlia Z.  He moved on later to Class 95’s Love Songs, drive time news on then NewsRadio 938 before finally settling into Gold 90.5FM hosting the mornings with various partners such as Margaret Lim, Audrey Ying and Hamish Brown.  His switched media platforms when he decided to write on golf, travel, cars and dining and became editor of a lifestyle tech magazine.    His recent entry into the Power Breakfast Show on Power 98 makes him the only journeyman jock to have worked almost all the Singapore English Radio stations on the FM Band, save for two.

Sonja, the youngest of the trinity, first appeared as a woodland fairy in the local Bad Segeberg newspaper at the age of five.  She studied theatre at Bristol, UK and the Atlantic Acting School in New York City.  In Singapore, she was part of a professional theatre company, Players Theatre that produces engaging, high-quality productions for children of all ages.   In her foray of radio, she started out in a brief stint as a part-timer at 987FM after which she is now a fully-fledged member of the Power 98FM family.   Sonja is passionate about the local and international indie music scene.
