5 March 2012, Singapore – With the Canon CameraWindow app and Wi-Fi, internet connection or 3G, you can easily transfer images or videos to your iOS device without having to download them from your camera to a computer and without compromising the image quality. After which, you can upload them online to your Facebook, Youtube, Path or the overwhelming plethora of social media sites.
This means you don’t even need to handy Eye-Fi card which does just the same! iOS devices that is compatible include iPhone 4/4S, iPad/iPad 2, iPod touch 4th with iOS 4.3 or later and Full HD (1920 x 1080) video files are not supported.
This new Wi-Fi feature is available on the soon to be available Canon IXUS 510 HS and 240HS.
Features of the IXUS 510 HS
- Touch panel at the back eliminates operating buttons for a cleaner look
- Canon’s high sensitivity (HS) system combines the high-sensitivity CMOS sensor (found in EOS DSLRs) and the DIGIC 5 image processor.
- 10.1 megapixel, 12x optical zoom, 28mm lens.
- New Face ID & Intelligent IS (Image Stabiliser) function.
- Smart Auto function can detect up to 58 scenes
- Full HD videat 1080p with a Movie Digest feature that lets you record in 720p resolution and at the same time take photos
- Pre record 4 seconds of video footage before the shutter button is pressed
The IXUS 510 HS will be available from Mid-April in Singapore. Pricing is not announced at time of publishing this article.

- Full HD videat 1080p with a Movie Digest feature that lets you record in 720p resolution and at the same time take photos
- Pre record 4 seconds of video footage before the shutter button is pressed
