August 2011, Singapore – On 20 August, Massimo Dutti featured their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection with a fashion show at their Liat Tower flagship store in Singapore. The kids range was also launched for the first time in Singapore. With the show produced by Daniel Boey, over 200 guests were given a visual treat of both the adults and kids range.
Men’s Collection
Bringing back to 60’s inspired intellectuals look with knit tricot sports coats in pearly knit, voluminous wrap-arounds trimmed with buttons and in neutral colours combined with ink blue, bottle green, garnet and cocoa, the Overnight range is great to look at but may be a tad bit to warm for our climate here.
Harvest is the rebirth of the “folk” look, reversible garments with a sporty character, inspired by hunting, fishing, oil cloth, quilted, pockets and zippers, and boots, bags and plaid shirts too.
Bauhaus is more my cup of tea with it’s “preppy” style. Neutral colours of the outside of the garment contrasts with bright red, oak green, oil and touches of mustard shown in tricot, shirts and accessories. Hopefully this collection will be able to help me achieve my preppy look to conceal my past youth age.
The men’s collection ranges from S$54.90 (accessories) to S$850.00 (leather jacket).
Women’s Collection
The women’s collection has a wider range the men’s.
Hunting is a mix of kakis, olives, beiges and garnet which start the chilly atmosphere as an introduction to winter with a combination of plaids, jacquards and coordinated trousers,
Equestrian range of beiges, camels and blues are matched with washed leather or rich tricot. Classic riding trousers with luxurious tricot and print scarf are inspired by classic equestrian.
Nordic Notes range is inspired by the Nordic countries wintry trends. Ivory, natural and camel colours combine with a clear denim blue and splash of colour; orange. Inspirational pieces: the cape and a cable knit sweater. Smart napa dresses, accessories with an air of freshness, A-line skirts as well as model viscose Bermudas frame this first sweet collection with romantic touches.
College ’50 shows the authentic woman in a “school” ambience. Pallet colours of sea blue, camels, bottle green, garnets and red with duffle coats, resined jackets, plaid a-line skirts, knitwear and shirts, twin-set jackets in stripes, and formal shirts make a real change in the classics.
Country Heritage is inspired by the 80’s together with a vintage air. Detachable parkas with leather trim, reversible garments, careful tailoring and floral print shirts in a range of kaki greens, ochres, caramel and yellow define a woman using legacy and tradition.
The women’s autumn/winter 2011 collection ranges from S$19.90 (accessories) to S$590.00 (leather jacket).
